Option A · Delete from within the app (recommended)
The fastest and most complete way to delete your account is directly inside Tally Together. Once tapped, the action is performed immediately — your cloud data is erased and your sign-in account (anonymous, email, or Google) is removed.
- 1 Open Tally Together on your device and make sure you are signed into the account you want to delete.
- 2 Go to the Profile tab (「我的」) at the bottom of the screen.
- 3 Tap Delete account (「删除账号」).
- 4 Confirm the action when the warning dialog appears. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
- 5 The app will return you to a fresh, empty temporary account. You can either set it up as a new identity or simply uninstall the app.
Option B · Request deletion by email
If you can't access your account in the app (lost device, app removed, account stuck), you can email us and we will perform the deletion on your behalf within 30 days.
Send a deletion request to:
zyinteractive@gmail.comSo we can locate the right account, please include at least one of the following in your email:
- Your invite code, if you remember it
- The nickname you set inside the app
- The approximate date you created the account, if you remember it
Tally Together supports anonymous, email, and Google sign-in. To make sure we are deleting the correct account — especially for anonymous accounts where we have no email or phone number on file — we may ask one or two follow-up questions. We never ask for sensitive information such as bank details or passwords.
What happens to your data
Permanently removed
- Your profile — nickname, emoji avatar, invite code
- All your bookkeeping entries — income, expenses, categories, notes, dates, amounts
- All your wallets — names, types, currencies
- Your social connections — friend / partner links you created
- Your sign-in account (anonymous, email, or Google) — the underlying login itself
- Any locally stored preferences (language, currency symbol, theme) — removed when you uninstall the app
Why it can't be instantly purged everywhere
- Shared-bill content remains visible to the other members of those bills — the bill is part of their own records. Inside the bill, your name is kept as the snapshot taken when the bill was created (amounts and splits unchanged) so the other party can still reconcile accurately.
- Settlement records involving other people — friend-to-friend repayments you logged and the settlement state on shared bills — are kept so the other party can continue to reconcile accurately. Your private copy is removed from your own account.
- Encrypted backups — Firestore does not run automatic backups by default. If a backup exists at the time of deletion, any residual copies will be purged within 30 days.
- Standard server logs (IP addresses, basic connection metadata) held by Google as part of operating Firebase are kept according to Google's own retention policy, which we do not control.
How long it takes
- In-app deletion — your data is removed from Firestore and your Firebase login is destroyed immediately upon confirmation.
- Email request — we will action your request and confirm by reply within 30 days, and usually within a few business days.
- Residual backup purge — if any backups exist, residual copies are purged within 30 days of the deletion.
After your account is deleted
- You can keep using Tally Together — a fresh, empty anonymous account will be created automatically when you re-open the app.
- Your friend / partner connections are removed, so you will no longer appear in their contact lists. On shared bills you took part in, your name remains as the snapshot taken when the bill was created — this lets the other members continue to reconcile amounts accurately.
- If you re-create an account later, it will be a brand-new identity — your previous data cannot be restored.
